Functions of integument

Functions of Integument The integument performs various types of Functions for which is adapted in different vertebrates. These are as follows. 1 . PROTECTION :- The integument is basically a protective organ forming an envelope around the body. It protects the body by followings means. • Protection against mechanical injury. Integument protects body from pressure, friction and any other mechanical blow. Etc. • As mechanical barrier. The outer most covering of the integument is waterproof and germproof due to the process of keratinization. • Protection by secretion. Sweat and oil glands present in the integument kills or inactivate bacteria and resist development of Fungi. • Protective coloration. The integument of a few animals have variety of colours which help those animals to protect attack by the process of mimicry. • Extra protection by derivatives. In various vertebrates, integument has derivatives like scales, bony plates, feathers, and hair for extra protection....

How to manage Solid waste?

Solid waste is managed only if we start to manage it individually.  We should pick up the plastic rappers which we see on ground and through it in dustbin. So at least who see me doing this will inspire himself to do so.  We should recycle the plastic items.  Glasses, tin etc.  We should reuse those waste which we can use  Like plastic jars is used to plant a tree. To decorate in roof.   We should resuse the plastic bags again and again when we buy any item from shop.  Like if we buy 5 kg rice from shop. The shopkeeper give rice in a 5 kg plastic bag. So we keep this bag in future use we we buy rice or something.  We should decay bio degradable waste to make organic fertilizer/manure.  rice

What are Solid waste?

Solid waste is any solid or semi solid waste, it may be domestic, institutional, commercial, market waste, street waste, sewage waste, agricultural waste, plastic waste etc. Generated in any area is called solid waste Which cause ugly scenes in environment and foils the surrounding. Radioactive and hospital waste are also included in solid waste.  Solid waste causes soil , water and air by causing foul smell in air.

Types of fossils

Types of Fossils plants 1. Petrifactions or Mineralized plants: In this type of plants fossil the original cell of the plant tissue is retained by means of some minerals like, silica etc. These mineral has infiltrated the tissues. In this type of fossil sometimes the material of original plant may be preserved e.g. coal balls, Silicified wood etc. 2. Cast on incrustations: In this type of plant fossil, the form of plant if preserved as a cast. The cast result from the liking of a cavity formed by decay of tissues of plant part. Here the internal, structures are destroyed and carbonaceous substances of the plant are totally gone e.g. stem leaf scers, larger seeds etc. 3. Compressions: In this type of plant fossil, the external form of plant modifies and leaves impressions on the sediment which over lie on it. 4. Compaction or Mummified plants: In this type of plant fossil, the plants or their parts get compressed by vertical pressure against one another. Mostly plant rudiments foun...

What are Fossils?

FOSSILS.                                 (Arbaz khan) The study of dead remains of the organism or their imprints preserved in the geological rocks is called fossil. Fossils are used to study organisms present in the past. Fossil is derived from a Latin word fotlere meaning “to dig”. In fact fossils are impressions or cast of the organelles (organism) living sometime back but now extinct, on. They are present in rocks.  Normally the plant dies and it degeneration starts immediately. This degeneration remains continue till the entire body is broken into chemical compounds. Thus no evidences of its former remain in existence. But sometimes under certain circumstances the degeneration of plant body stops. Thus parts of the body remain in visible form. These remains are known as fossils. These fossils are lifeless. Plant fossils are normally present in rocks composed of sediments deposited in wat...

Paleobotany

PALEOBOTANY The study of fossils of plant life of the geologic past is called paleobotany.  Paleobotany tells us the story of preserved vestiges of the plant life of the past.  In simplified language paleobotany may be defined as a branch of botany which deals with the study of such plants which are living in past but extinct now. Prof. Birbal Sahani is known as father of Indian Paleobotany.
